With epidemics like the Norwalk Virus, SARS and the Swine Flu, hand sanitizers have become HUGE in our our everyday lives. They are in our kids' classrooms, in many public areas, in our cars and in our purses. The problem with most hand sanitizers is that they are filled with alcohol and chemicals. They dry out our skin and the chemicals are absorbed into our bodies.
There is a natural option. Tea Tree Oil has been used for centuries as it has beneficial medical properties when applied topically, including antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral action.
Eminence has a line of USDA Certified Organic products. We love the Tea Tree & Mint Hand Cleanser. It is enriched with chamomile, aloe vera and tea tree oil. This chemical-free formula does not dry your skin out and the fresh scent of iced mint and vanilla will energize your skin and stimulate your senses.
We found Eminence Tea Tree & Mint Hand Cleanser at Casbah Evolution in South Surrey for $9.00.

We know that you've heard this before but we're going to say it again. CHECK YOUR MOLES AND USE SUNSCREEN DILIGENTLY! We can't stress enough how important it is to be sun safe and tuned into the minor changes that can happen to the moles on your body.
When detected early enough, 90% of skin cancers are are curable. That's huge! Here's a few more scary stats: skin cancer is the most common cancer in the world. There has been an 11% increase in melanoma skin cancer in young women aged 15-29 years. Less than 37% of British Columbians check their moles for changes and one Canadian dies of skin cancer every 7 hours.
That's why we think this is so important.
To help you learn more about doing skin checks and being sun safe, La Roche-Posay has created myskincheck.ca. This website is dedicated to creating awareness of what you can do to prevent skin cancer and to help you locate any suspect moles that need to be screened by a dermatologist or your doctor.
myskincheck.ca also allows you to keep track of your moles in between doctors visits. Along with an Evaluation Video there is a interactive diagram for you to place the 'mole' on your body, keep track of it's measurements and make comments on it. We think this is absolutely awesome and it's TOTALLY FREE!
La Roche-Posay skincare is recommended by over 25,000 dermatologists worldwide. They have a long-standing commitment to preventing skin cancer and the myskincheck.ca website is recognized by the Canadian Dermatology Association. We've been using the La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL sunscreen SPF60 in both the cream ($20) and the stick ($20) and we love it. It covers the skin very well and doesn't feel greasy or have an offensive odor.
La Roche-Posay products are available at London Drugs.
