April brings more than showers. It brings the desire to free our legs from tights and our arms from long sleeved sweaters. However, this also means that we are baring the pasty white skin of winter. We've found two new products to banish that winter white skin without the risk of harmful UV rays.
Commitment phobes rejoice! L'Oreal Sublime Bronze One Day Tint is a tinted gel that will give you an all-over, sun-kissed look without the commitment because it will wash off with soap and water at the end of the day. This moisturizing, quicky-dry formula is made with natural colorant and contains no DHA. The more layers you apply, the darker it will get.
If you are looking for a longer-lasting tan, the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Express Pro self-tanner is very similar to getting a professional spray-on tan. The wide-angle jet applicator provides continuous coverage and leaves you with an even, streak-free tan. We love how quickly it dries without the need to rub it in and the Citrus Scent means that you no longer have to walk around with that awful self-tanner smell.
One thing to keep in mind with the Bronze Express is that there is a bit of over-spray so make sure you apply this in a well-ventilated area or turn on your bathroom fan. It can get a little misty in the room.
Both products retail for $15.99 and are available at pharmacies and L'Oreal counters across the Fraser Valley.

These days in the beauty and fashion industry it's all about collaboration. Cosmetic companies are joining with designers to create limited edition releases of their already proven products. We've found three, already-proven lip products that have been glammed-up with pretty packaging.
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Juicy Tubes, Lancome has partnered with famous Japanese designer Yayoi Kusama to create a Limited Release of Juicy Tubes with beautiful colours and fun designs. Lancome products are available at department store and drug store cosmetic counters all across the Fraser Valley.
We've told you about Barefoot Venus before and we are loving' their Lip Fable Lip Balm tins. Loaded with Jojoba seed oil, shea butter fruit, meadowfoam oil and grape seed oil, these lip balms will soothe even the driest lips. The fun designs mean that you can feel girly every time you put it on. Barefoot Venus is available online and at several great boutiques across the Valley. Check out the locations here.
What can we say about MAC? Their products have a cult-like following and we are sure that their collaboration with Liberty of London will cause a stampede. Liberty of London is known for their fun, flowery designs and their collection with MAC does not disappoint. The Give Me Liberty of London series features designs that bring to mind summer days just relaxing in the park with friends and having a good time. MAC products are available at select Bay stores as well as at MAC stand-alone stores. Both are at Guildford Town Centre.

So often we hear women with thick, heavy, wavy hair complaining about the difficulties in they have styling it. No matter what they do with product, flat irons and blowouts, their hair has a mind of it's own.
Listen up ladies…the Brazilian Blowout is for you! Performed in a professional salon, the treatment takes only 90 minutes and the results last up to 12 weeks even with regular shampooing and styling. Your treatment also includes the Acai Berry based after-care products to ensure the results last as long as possible.
This is not a harsh chemical treatment. Through the use of a Keratin-based formula, the Brazilian Blowout actually improves the condition of your hair by creating a protective shaft to eliminate frizz and smooth the hair cuticle.
We've seen the results on two local ladies and it really is amazing how smooth and silky their hair looked, even weeks after the treatment.
Currently the Brazilian Blowout is only offered at a few salons in the Metro Vancouver area and Black Orchid Hair Studio in Langley is one of them. We love the open, loft-style feeling at Black Orchid.

Our hair takes a beating daily. Environmental elements, flat ironing and curling irons, lack of nutrition, chlorinated water…they all strip our hair of essential moisture and we are left with dull, flat, dry hair. There are a lot of products on the market that claim to re-hydrate your hair and many of them do what they say, however, we have never experienced one quite as good as MoroccanOil (yes, it is all one word!).
A favourite of celebrities and stylists, MorrocanOil blends ancient ingredients with modern technology to restore stressed out hair. All MoroccanOil products are rooted in Argan Oil, an ancient ingredient used by Moroccan women as a natural anti-aging agent to strengthen and nourish nails, skin, hair and scalp.
We've got to tell you that our hair has NEVER felt so soft and silky. There is no greasy feeling at all and it smells wonderful.
The MorocccanOil line includes Shampoo ($18.80), Conditioner ($19.80), a Restorative Hair Mask ($39), an Intense Hydrating Mask ($35), an Oil Treatment ($39), a Glimmer Shine Spray ($24), a Hydrating Styling Cream ($35) and an Intense Curl Cream ($35).
MoroccanOil is available at professional hair salons as well as London Drugs.
When we first opened the beautifully designed compacts from the new Lise Watier Vintage Modern palette for spring, we were a little surprised. Inspired by the legendary beauties of the big screen, the colours appear to be very vibrant...and a little intimidating. So, we decided to play.
The eye colours in the Eyes & Cheeks palette ($38) go on very softly with no fly away. We love the brown and the peach tones that work well with so many skin tones. We do wish that the green leaned a little more to the turquoise. We absolutely love the purple & lime green of the Eyeshadow compact. They also go on quite softly and blend together well.
The mascara ($20) & eyeliners rock. The mascara wand has a long handle which is easy to hold on to and the tip is tapered so you can get into the corners of the eye. It is not goopy at all. The liquid eyeliner ($19) is also fabulous. Very easy to apply.
The Illuminating Face Powder ($32) also comes in a beautiful compact and we really like how it has a nice, soft coverage that refreshes a dull complexion with a subtle glow.
The Lipstick Duo ($18) is really cool. It is a dua-shade lipstick that has a pink with a violet undertone on one side and an orangey-hued coral on the other. Genius! Two shades, two finishes. Use the alone or layer them for a striking look.
OK, we have to talk about the lip stain ($20). The icons of the fifties were all about subtle eyes and vibrant lips and this fuchsia lip stain does not disappoint. While we don't find that the stain actually lasts 8 hours, it does have staying power. Combine it with a layer of the Plumpissimo lip gloss (20) for a beautiful shine.
We know we are kind of raving here but we truly are impressed with the Lise Waiter Vintage Modern Collection. Lise Watier is sold at London Drugs and Shoppers Drug Mart locations across the Fraser Valley.
Thank you to Deborah Reynolds of About Face Image Consulting for "playing" with us! We'll be hearing from Deborah again as she is joining the Stimuli team as a Beauty & Image Contributing Editor. Welcome Deborah.
