Setting a beautiful table is something that almost anyone can do. All it takes is a little research (cue Pinterest) for inspiration and a little shopping to pick up the perfect accessories. Then it's all about playing with your table arrangements to create your look.
While we know that Easter is still a ways off, we couldn't help but share our newest find; the Beaded Egg Votive Holder. This handcrafted, wirework egg shape absolutely sparkles with glass beads that shimmer in the flickering "candlelight". It's important to note that they are only for use with flameless candles - you'll need to pick up a couple of the battery powered versions. Available in two sizes, each candle holder comes with a 6 inch filament string so that you can hang them from your chandelier as well as place them on your table. No need to save this gem for Easter dinner, it's elegant enough to use all year long.
There's just something so sophisticated and elegant about a monogrammed gift. In this season of gift giving, it can be easy to lose the personal touch as we scurry around to find something for everyone on our list.
This Monogrammed Oval Paperwhite Soap Set is a great gift idea and will add that special touch to a bathroom. The oval shaped soaps are made with vegetable based ingredients and have a light Paperwhite scent. You can personalize the soap with either a single initial or 3 initial monogram.
The monogrammed soaps are available online only from Pottery Barn for $51.32 CAD.
It's almost time to ring in a new year; let go of the old and look forward to new possibilities. Part of ushering in 2012 will be replacing your calendar. No, the generic, branded calendar you picked up from your insurance agent or realtor does not make a stylish statement.
We love the colourful simplicity of Etsy retailer Leen Machine's Limited Edition Wall Calendar. Each month features its own unique design and the smaller size of 4" x 7.25" means that it will fit nicely onto your bulletin board. Printed on 80lb cover stock, the calendar includes a white ribbon for hanging and comes packaged in a clear cello sleeve. This makes a fantastic gift!
Is there anything better than a bowl of hot soup on a cold winter's day? We think not. It's even more enjoyable when the soup is homemade. Not only is it healthier, as homemade souls have a lower sodium content and no preservatives, they are also much tastier! However, making soup from scratch can take more time and effort than we'd like. Until now, that is.
Cuisinart has created the all-in-one Blend and Cook Soup and Beverage Maker. This handy little multifunctional machine sautés, cooks and blends homemade soups and sauces right in the jar. We happened across photographer, Kari Herer's website recently and the originality of her work made us stop and stare. While her still-life photographs are stunning, it's what she does with them that is truly remarkable; they are a hybrid of a photograph and a line drawing creating a 3D-like effect. The vibe is vintage romance that we can envision on the walls of a shabby chic style home.
Printed on premium quality, acid free paper, all photographs are printed with a white border for easy framing and are 8" x 10" in size.
You can view Kari Herer's work on her blog, on her website and on her Etsy store. Prices are in the $30 range for each photograph.
