Teach an Essential Life Skill

With the economic chaos of the past year, it’s impossible not to recognize the important of Financial Education for children and teens. Money management really is an essential life skill and it’s important that it is learned long before you look at your credit card and realize there is a big problem.
That’s why we love four quarter$. It started with two women devising a mini-workshop and make-shift manual to teach their children about money and morphed into a three-woman team that has taken the four quarter$ kit to the public.
With three different age categories, this kit teaches kids and young adults how to save, spend wisely, track their spending, know the difference between a want and a need and learn about “good debt” and “bad debt”. It gives them a solid foundation with which to spread their wings into a secure financial adult life.
These women are so passionate about this subject that they are sponsoring a writing contest for the month of December titled “There are many ways to give. This is my story…”. In 500 words or less, they are asking children between the ages of 6 and 18 to tell their story about giving. There are three age categories, each with a prize of $400 payable to a charity of the winner’s choice.
You can find the four quarter$ kit online at www.fourquartersfinance.com.
