Going Green at the Grocers

Going Green at the Grocers

The re-useable shopping bag has revolutionized the grocery shopping industry. No more plastic bags clogging up our landfills and under our sinks as we try to store them. Oh wait...there’s still the pesky issue of the produce bags.

Twitter is an amazing thing. We discovered Carebags, a Vancouver based company, through a tweet from one of our followers. LOVE THIS! Instead of walking through the produce section, pulling plastic bags off of rolls, you can bring these 100% re-useable produce bags. Buy, wash and store fruits & vegetables right in the bag. Made from highly durable, synthetic fibres, some of the original Carebags from 17 years ago are still in use.

Now, that’s environmentally friendly.

Carebags are available to order online or at 125 retailers across the province. Visit the Carebags website and clik on Vendors for a complete list.
