With epidemics like the Norwalk Virus, SARS and the Swine Flu, hand sanitizers have become HUGE in our our everyday lives. They are in our kids' classrooms, in many public areas, in our cars and in our purses. The problem with most hand sanitizers is that they are filled with alcohol and chemicals. They dry out our skin and the chemicals are absorbed into our bodies.
There is a natural option. Tea Tree Oil has been used for centuries as it has beneficial medical properties when applied topically, including antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral action.
Eminence has a line of USDA Certified Organic products. We love the Tea Tree & Mint Hand Cleanser. It is enriched with chamomile, aloe vera and tea tree oil. This chemical-free formula does not dry your skin out and the fresh scent of iced mint and vanilla will energize your skin and stimulate your senses.
We found Eminence Tea Tree & Mint Hand Cleanser at Casbah Evolution in South Surrey for $9.00.

Your makeup is only as good as your base. When applying makeup, you will get much better results if you "prep" your skin with the proper foundation and concealers before applying your colour. Evening out the skin tone and covering blemishes is imperative to a great looking face.
In our recent quest for concealers, we've come across two that we are really liking.
Benefit Cosmetics has come out with a limited edition Confessions of a Concealaholic kit. Not only is the packaging cute and fun, inside is everything you need to create the perfectly canvas. Included is 2 shades of concealer, 1 Eyebright illuminator, 1 tube of primer, 1 Erase Paste and 2 brushes. This kit is available at select Shoppers Drug Mart stores across the Fraser Valley for only $44.
If you're looking for something a little more simple then the Physician's Formula Concealer Trio is a great option. This Mineral Wear formula is Talc-Free and provides a medium coverage to hide any imperfections. It has great hold and goes on easily. We love that there is a highlighter included to brighten up those darker areas. Physician's Formula Concealer is available at London Drugs and Shopper's Drug Mart stores across the Fraser Valley for about $12.00. Great deal!

This week is the much anticipated opening of Sex and the City 2. Life with Carrie and the girls means great friends, great fashion and great fun. That's exactly what you'll get with our feature today.
We are not often impressed with new fragrances, however, we fell in love at first sniff with the SJP NYC fragrance. It just screams summer and the ingredients are so SATC. The delicious smelling top notes of strawberries, Italian mandarin and White Osmanthus compliment the middle notes of Gardenia, Honeysuckle and Mimosa. The bottom notes are more masculine with Rum Flavour, Sandalwood and Creamy Musks. It is the perfect blend of sophistication and fun.
The SJP NYC fragrance is available at most cosmetic and fragrance counters of major drug stores and department stores. Currently Shoppers Drug Mart has a special set price of $62 which gets you the fragrance, body lotion and a great handbag. The Shoppers Beauty Boutique in Walnut Grove is celebrating all weekend with their Sex and the City Event. There will be free giveaways, makeup tips and all the gals will be dressed as a SATC character.
Looking for some lighter SATC fun? BC Lottery Corporation has launched the Sex and the City scratch & win ticket. Priced at $3* per ticket, you have a chance to win the top prize of $50,000 and other prizes including a trip to New York City PLUS $5,000 in spending money. That will buy a few Manolos!
BCLC has put together a special prize pack for Stimuli readers. Valued at $400, this gorgeous basket includes 10 SATC scratch & win tickets, a piece of Tiffany & Co. jewellery, 4 Cineplex Odeon movie passes, the SJP NYC fragrance and a DVD of the first SATC movie.
To be entered into the draw, please post your comments on this editorial and tell us about why you would like to win this gift basket. The draw will take place on Monday, May 31st.
*Tickets can be purchased at your local lottery retailer. Additional details can be found at http://www.bclc.com/sexandthecity. This is a BC only lottery game. Overall chances to win a prize on the SATC are 1 in 3.45. Players must be 19 years or older to purchase, play or redeem. Know your limit, play within it.

The sunshine has finally arrived and we here at Stimuli are looking forward to loads of lakeside fun over the coming months. That got us thinking about some of the ‘bare necessities’ of summer. We casually asked some of our fellow Stimulista’s just how they prepare ‘down there’ when considering their more skimpy poolside attire.
Some of our Stimulista’s didn’t bat an eye and have no problem gearing down for their regular fem-scaping, or as others may note - regular site maintenance. But if you’re not comfortable taking your bikini routine all the way to Brazil, we discovered a fabulous little option from Schick, the Quattro Trim Style for women.
This handy razor comes with a waterproof personal trimmer built right into the handle. Feeling slightly sceptical we had to investigate further. Here’s the low-down. The Schick Quattro Trim Style comes with a four blade razor and with the flip of the handle a waterproof bikini trimmer. The trimmer has a two position guard that can be easily removed. The best part - batteries ARE included.
If you are feeling a little cheeky, visit quattro4women.ca and take the quiz to discover if you are ‘Pared and Practical’ or a little ‘Rock n’ Roll’.
No matter how you choose to ‘prep the surgical field’ (thank you Grey's Anatomy) we suggest this all-in-one a winner for bikini season. We found our trimmer for under $13 at Shopper's Drug Mart.

We know that you've heard this before but we're going to say it again. CHECK YOUR MOLES AND USE SUNSCREEN DILIGENTLY! We can't stress enough how important it is to be sun safe and tuned into the minor changes that can happen to the moles on your body.
When detected early enough, 90% of skin cancers are are curable. That's huge! Here's a few more scary stats: skin cancer is the most common cancer in the world. There has been an 11% increase in melanoma skin cancer in young women aged 15-29 years. Less than 37% of British Columbians check their moles for changes and one Canadian dies of skin cancer every 7 hours.
That's why we think this is so important.
To help you learn more about doing skin checks and being sun safe, La Roche-Posay has created myskincheck.ca. This website is dedicated to creating awareness of what you can do to prevent skin cancer and to help you locate any suspect moles that need to be screened by a dermatologist or your doctor.
myskincheck.ca also allows you to keep track of your moles in between doctors visits. Along with an Evaluation Video there is a interactive diagram for you to place the 'mole' on your body, keep track of it's measurements and make comments on it. We think this is absolutely awesome and it's TOTALLY FREE!
La Roche-Posay skincare is recommended by over 25,000 dermatologists worldwide. They have a long-standing commitment to preventing skin cancer and the myskincheck.ca website is recognized by the Canadian Dermatology Association. We've been using the La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL sunscreen SPF60 in both the cream ($20) and the stick ($20) and we love it. It covers the skin very well and doesn't feel greasy or have an offensive odor.
La Roche-Posay products are available at London Drugs.
Are you wondering what you should be looking for when it comes to your moles? Here are the ABC's of skin cancer:
