Firefly Lane
I just finished reading “Firefly Lane” by Kristin Hannah and let me tell you, it was the book I have been waiting for, for a long time. This novel has everything. Friendship, family, trust, and most of all, love.
It starts off in the summer of 1974, with two eighth-grade girls, Kate and Tully who meet on their street Firefly Lane. Drawn together by their completely opposite family backgrounds, personalities, and social circles, they form a bond of friendship and make a pact to be best friends forever.
Over the span of more than three decades, both Kate and Tully, anchored in their friendship through-out life-changing events and new relationships, embrace new priorities while remaining true to their pact. That is until a sudden act of betrayal makes one of them question these priorities.
I think this novel would be great for all women. With truthful characters and a story that we all can relate to, with the loyalty and love we all expect and want to possess, it’s indeed a book to be read and then shared with your BFF!
I have never laughed and cried so much in a book as I did in this one. Even after I read the last page I was still in tears and stunned at how beautifully Kristin Hannah has written this story.
