Dutchess
Jan 09, 2012

Duchess arrived at Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS) with three kittens in tow and pregnant again...or so we thought. She went to the vet for x-rays and instead of kittens the vet found that she was packed with feces. The poor girl also had a fractured pelvis and a dislocated hip.
The first order of business was getting Duchess comfortable, so she was immediately given painkillers and put on a high-fibre diet to promote intestinal health. Next came the surgery – her hip was repaired and then Duchess went through weeks of cage rest so her hip and pelvis could heal.
Now, almost 9 weeks later, Duchess is healthy, happy and looking for a home. Despite all she's been through in her two short years, Duchess is a friendly, outgoing cat. If you have room in your life for Duchess, please stop by and meet her today.
