LAPS (Langley Animal Protection Society) and PetSmart are teaming up to get more cats out of the shelter and into loving homes! The Abbotsford PetSmart is now home to an adoption centre, which will house 4 – 12 LAPS cats or kittens. They will be available for viewing seven days a week, with volunteers on site to do adoptions between 6 PM and 8 PM, Monday to Friday, and 12 PM and 4 PM on weekends.

This project will make a huge difference in the lives of Langley's cats. It has the potential to double our cat adoptions, which will double the number of cats we can help. Housing cats at PetSmart not only frees up shelter space for other cats in need, it also provides our current adoptable felines with more exposure to the public and makes it more likely for them to be adopted quickly. By shortening their shelter stay, the centre will improve their quality of life and reduce the risk of them developing stress related health problems.
