We are constantly amazed that, regardless of how much education is out there, people still think that tanning is OK and that sunscreen is not necessary. Each year there are 4,200 new cases of Melanoma and 76,000 cases on non-Melanoma skin cancers in Canada. That is a lot of people affected.
The Canadian Cancer Society has launched a new initiative called Tanning is Out which is aimed at educating young men and women about the dangers of tanning and tanning beds. They have recruited a few "Sun Ambassadors" that will be attending events and blogging about their commitment to be sun safe.
Check out their website here. Ladies, the sun is not safe for our skin so be sun safe!
