How to Host Your Own Diner en Blanc

As expected, Diner en Blanc Vancouver sold out within a very short time of tickets being released last week. The annual event takes place in a different secret location each year; guest must wear white and tablescapes should also follow the same theme. With entertainment and the traditional waving of the white napkins, it’s a night to remember.

Disappointed that you weren’t able to snag a pair of the coveted tickets? Pout no more because we’re showing you how to host your own Diner en Blanc at home – no tickets required! From the invitations to the tablescape, I’ve put together everything you need to create an unforgettable evening.








1. Set the Mood

The invitation design sets the theme for the evening. Head on over to to create your virtual invitation. We suggest this Linen design. Be sure to include details such as the all-white dress code.



2. Set the Stage

Ah…the tablescape. My favourite part of planning an event. Head on over to Pinterest and do a search for white tablescape, the ideas are plentiful and the choices endless. While many of the photos show an event on a large scale, it’s really quite simple to pare things down to suit your event. Here’s a few of my favourites:















Flowers are a MUST and the choices are endless. Here’s a few ideas to inspire you:













If you’d like to go the extra step to have all-white chairs, it’s very inexpensive to rent them from your local party rental store.




3. Set the Table

An all white party require plain white dishes and plain white can be anything but boring. While you can certainly rent those as well, it may decide to invest in a new set of dinnerware, because well, white goes with anything – always. Here’s a few inexpensive choices:
